Research references on birds interaction with power lines, wind farms, nuclear power plants and fuel power plants, are quite easy to find. But specific research on management of birds on energy power stations are quite scarce. Further, evaluation on prevention methods are even more difficult to find, especially for small birds, since big birds (Falconiformes, Cicconiformes, Anseriformes, etc) are the main target on these studies.
If someone knows of references or could shear the pdfs on management of birds on energy power stations, I would be very greateful.
Hello Lorian. I have some PDFs about these research line. Really, it's more difficulty to find references for the power lines impact in small birds, but some studies show it. A register of 'Jans, G. & Ferrer, M. (1998)' studie tells more about the prevention and the anti-collisions technologies, including collisions for some species of passerines. The majority of the papers on this subject gathered data on bird collision, have you guys seen something more specific about problems from nesting activity on the energy stations?
