If black holes absorb all the surrounding energy, then technically they should absorb energy in the form of matter, which means the universe is contracting, not expanding. The energy law could be broken by black holes.

Where could this energy go? One potential solution to this problem is if the black hole is the entrance to a wormhole where this lost energy is returned to the universe at a white hole (the opposite of a black hole). Thus, the energy law would be conserved.
