The freely available tools help in downloading the images which are not of high resolution. So the question is "How can we download the 1 m resolution images from Google Earth?
Thanks Sailesh and Yaseen, are there no copyright issues with this? Google earth allows download? But I am aware that most of the satellite data vendors don't allow the users to freely pass images. We should check with google policy is on this.
You can't. First of all GE images are only RGB renderings, so you are not looking to true DNs of the original images. The NIR band also is not available at all, and the original 2m spatial resolution is also a bit reduced. I'm not considering license that also adds a few strong limitiations of use for those images. In brief, they are not usable for remote sensing applications, but are still interesting for object recognition and visual applications at large scale (e.g. pattern recognition and computer vision methods)
Ha ha ha...... for original satellite image (including all bands having proper DN) we look for different image supplier, and sometime free download site like GLCF (old dataset). Google earth data.....real/true picture of earth. Question was how to download? Yes you can download using before-said S/W.
Interesting to see all the above answers. All the mentioned tools are too slow for downloading imagery of 1 m resolution. Certainly, more efficient tools exist. But if you download GE imagery it would only be images with RGB values as Francesco Lovergine rightfully mentioned. Therefore, you can use this material just for tracing or as a backdrop image to support your vector map however; it will be clearly violation of copyrights.
Try with Google earth pro S/W.. But you have to save the image (ROI) title by tile and then you have to mosaic it. Unlike Google earth, GE Pro offers higher spatial resolution. Be sure that DN values are rendered one.
