How can we use vibration as a passive heat transfer enhancement technique?

There are two heat transfer enhancement techniques: passive and active. The use of vibration for surface or fluid is classified as active heat transfer enhancement technique, but in some studies, vibration was classified as a passive technique.

There is a good paper related to this topic :

" Heat transfer enhancement by flow-induced vibration in heat exchangers", L. Cheng & al., International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer 52(3), 2008.

The flow-induced vibration was effectively utilized instead of strictly avoiding it in the heat exchanger design.
