Food insecurity is linked to negative health outcomes in children and adults, and it may cause children to have trouble in school. Giving more people benefits through nutrition assistance programs, increasing benefit amounts, and addressing unemployment may help reduce food insecurity and hunger. Hunger is the feeling someone has when they don't have food. Food insecurity is the consistent lack of food to have a healthy life because of your economic situation. Feeding America is working to end hunger by addressing food insecurity. Firstly, by ensuring there is enough food for everyone. Secondly, all people have the capacity and resources to have access to adequate food. Lastly, there should not exist any barrier to access to food. India ensures food security by creating a buffer stock and public distribution system. The food procured by the Food Corporation of India (FCI) is distributed through government regulated ration shops among the poorer section of the society. This is called the Public Distribution System (PDS). This is the most important step taken by the Government of India towards ensuring food security. With an aim to decrease malnutrition, India has implemented several nutrition interventions in the last half century, including the National Food Security Act 2013, NIPCCD, ICDS and the mid-day meal scheme. Given the diverse local dietary habits, which have often been distorted by over-supply of cheap food grains, the solution to India's nutritional problem requires a system based approach based on greater convergence between stakeholders, decentralization in its true spirit, and better data systems to drive quicker. Better techniques must be implemented in farming and increased irrigation facilities and distribution of cultivable land and size of farms to providing seeds with higher quality and timely providing fertilizers. Nutrition security means consistent access, availability, and affordability of foods and beverages that promote well-being, prevent disease, and, if needed, treat disease, particularly among racial/ethnic minority, lower income, and rural and remote populations including Tribal communities and Insular areas. After remaining relatively unchanged since 2015, the prevalence of undernourishment jumped from 8.0 to 9.3 percent from 2019 to 2020 and rose at a slower pace in 2021 to 9.8 percent. Between 702 and 828 million people were affected by hunger in 2021. Due to concerns with gender inequality, poverty, a lack of education, and overpopulation, the children are food insecure. One of the main causes is poverty, which restricts the amount of food that youngsters can access. Food insecurity is linked to negative health outcomes in children and adults, and it may cause children to have trouble in school. Giving more people benefits through nutrition assistance programs, increasing benefit amounts, and addressing unemployment may help reduce food insecurity and hunger. Among the many potential biotechnologies that are available, and the different ways in which they can be applied, genetic modification (GM) of crops demands particular attention. Genetically modified crops possessing genes from different species, could possibly relieve global food shortages.
