I have tried extracting proanthocynidins from grape seeds, but when I get the result for proanthocynidins in sample and spent from extraction, the results do not follow mass balance. What am I doing wrong?
Watch for temperature and pH. Ensure slightly acidic medium and constant entropy during the process (near to room temperature). You may have to forgo some yield as to maintain the total extract more 0.3% in the last wash. All the best
Your problem could provide peraphs of oxidation of molecules. You can use water extraction. Monitor efficient temperature at 20 to 90 °C and from 5 to 60 min for extraction times.
