Attenuation is basically a signal loss which is happened due to bending of fiber cables and absorption. If it is possible then how? Help me with mathematical equations.
If i am right,. you are probably asking about the absorption of optical signal inside the optical fiber cable. To understand the concept refer G P agarwal,s Fiber Optics Communication systems edition three. file attached herewith.
Dear sir, I am just asking that if any fiber is bend then there have some attenuations. i want to know that attenuation at that moment with the exact location and exact loss.
suppose that a fiber is bend at a distance of 1 km at a degree of 30 then at 30 degree what is the attenuation i.e loss and what is distance from the origin of that fiber optic cable.
To do such a measurement, you can use an OTDR (optical time domain reflectometer) that is commercially available. To calculate it theoretically, you can have an approximate calculation of bending loss with the following reference: Marcuse, JOSA, vol.66 no3 1976.
