In 2006, the Asian Development Bank approved a loan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for the Sindh Coastal Community Development Project. It has much to do with community-based mangrove rehabilitation. The key project document is at http://www.adb.org/projects/documents/sindh-coastal-community-development-project-rrp. Searching for the project's title in adb.org will generate other related reports.
In Brisbane Queensland Australia there was an old industrial waste site which was removed of all rubbish and restored of its natural vegetation. The project was supported by local Council, a catchment group, a community NGO (Rotary) and the work of volunteers helped with the revegetation of the mangroves while a landscape designer helped out with the park design, conveyancing and layout. It was funded by local council
At the recent International Marine Conservation Congress (August 2014), there were two poster presentations on this subject. It would be worth tracking the authors down. http://birenheide.com/IMCC2014/program/sessionlist.php
The link to the poster session is at the end of the first day.
The mangrove is a tidal marsh ecosystem rather special and delicate because that is in the intertidal foreshore area called low-lying coastal tropical regions. It is a rather fragile ecosystem that requires concerted and rigorous management. To this end I attach files attached links to information on this subject.:
Mangroves are the most beautiful tropical formation between land and sea and which provide food for the aqatic organisms in turn reach upper levels of the ecosystems. It is our duty to conserve these ecosystems through awareness camps conducted in nearby villages/ helmets. Educate the locals regarding the importance and uses of the mangroves. In some countries NGO s play vital role in the conservation and restoration of these ecosystems. If we are not conserve this ecosystem, many dependants life in the cross roads and their livelihood may be affected. Today UNDP offers fund for these programmes, besides community participation and awareness are very important for restoration programme
