I want to make a dendrogram and identify the biofacies from my benthic faunal data (relative abundance of different species in different depths). Right now I am having the software PAST and SAS. But I am unable to get the specific manual anywhere on the internet!
Can anybody tell me how it is done?

I got an introduction from my former office mate who did exactly that. He used R für the cluster analysis. I used R for such analysis too. Have a look at the following links:

From my experience, R is more flexible and offers a wide range of algorithms. I also experimented with PAST. If you want a quick analysis and some generic plot, it might be a first step. But eventually I would end up with R anyway.
