I have been doing some desorption experiments of PAHs from artificially contaminated soils in serum bottles supplemented with mineral media under both abiotic and biotic (bacterial inocula added) conditions. I have conducted the experiment over 32 days and at various time intervals I have collected the bottles and analyzed for residual concentration of the PAHs both in the aqueous and soil phases. From previous experiments, I am sure about the capability of the bacteria to degrade the PAHs from the aqueous phase. Is there any way to investigate whether the bacteria is capable of uptaking the PAHs directly from soil ? Do I need to do some modelling/experimentation ?

Thanks in advance
