I had used an AAO template for the formation of the organic-semiconductor nano-wires by filling the pores of AAO with the molten state semiconductor material. After the formation of organic-semiconductor nano-wires I need to etch-out AAO template parts.
So please give me the suitable etching solution and steps of etching process.
Can anyone give some papers related to this?
Orthophosphoric acid is avery good etchant for Aluminium. You can also use commercial solution such as Al Etch. HF can also perfectly do the job as presented here: http://www.nanoscalereslett.com/content/8/1/123
NaOH solution is a good candidate, any strong alkaline solution can do this depending on the condition of your materials, i.e. you should check if your nanowire is safe with this etching agent before start. I hope this helps. Regards.
Among NaOH, HF, commercial solution of Al etch and Orthophosphoric acid, which one is less viscous solution.
I'm seeking less viscous solution to etch-out AAO, since in my device AAO is between two glass plates. So I think, less viscous solution will etch AAO and remove the etched part completely between the glass plates.
I had used the NaOH solution, it has etched AAO but the etched part remain itself between the glass plates..
You can remove the etched part by repeating washing with NaOH again, be carful not to attack your glass (depends on the type of glass you are using). NaOH, is desirable for the cost if it is not affected other part in the system you have. The dissolution is exothermic, which might affect some of your system under study (depends on concentration of NaOH you are using). HF is not desirable to use if you have parts of glass and for safety. Hope this helps. Regards.

Both of them using NaOH for 30 min but reported different concentration (3 M to about 11 M).
Can you give the chemical and physical explanation behind etching of AAO with NaOH ?
Will NaOH affect the organic semiconductor material like CuPc ?
