The Rash Pattern is different in both. In SLE it classical spares the nasolabial fold while it is involved in dermatomyositis. Itching is more in dermatomyositis. knuckles and other areas are pigmented in Dermatomyositis. Signs of Dermatomyositis Like heliotrope rash, gottrons papule etc are seen
