Most of the researchers have reported mixed infection of Alternaria alternata and Alternaria solani . I want to differentiate them based on morphology as well as molecular methods. If you have a protocol or reference or research paper or an idea do comment:

Alternaria alternata : Conidia formed in long chains , obclavate , ovoid or ellipsoidal with short beak . Conidia with 8 transverse and several longitudinal septa.
Alternaria solani : Conidia solitary , straight flexuous , obclavate or with the body of the conidium oblong tapering to a long beak which is longer than the conidium body . Condia with 9-11 transverse and zero or very few longitudinal septa . Beak flexuous and sometime branched .
