How can we determine the surface area or number of active sites of Pt on supported catalyst using CO pulse titration method?

I need to find out the TON and TOF for oxidation of VOCs on Pt/support catalyst.

The standard practice assumes that one CO molecule adsorb on one surface Pt atom. If you assume that an active site is a surface Pt atom, then number of active site is simply equal to CO uptake (usually given in umol).
