Different sample will absorb different portion of UV,visible and IR portion, Is that possible to calculate the percentage of each portion, how much UV light in (%) is absorbed or visible light or IR. I found one article people have done it, but how they calculated I want to know. Please find the attachment

Where A is the absorbance , Io is the intensity of the incident light and I is the intensity of the transmitted light .
Io can be measured by instrument or by actinometer and A is recorded by spectrophotometer.It,s easy to calculate I
. The ratio of light absorbed by material can be calculated from the difference between Io and I .
