The soil samples are sandy in nature. Weare interested to analyze total nitrogen, sulphur, Ca, Na, K and Mg content of soil sample. If you kindly suggest us the methodology.

Are you asking specifically about the methodology, or the instrumentation as well? Presumably you can access spectrometers but nitrogen and sulfur may require specific instruments.

There are some good books on soil chemical analysis that you can try.
Perhaps Dilip Kumar Pal you can suggest which books you would refer to, do you have some typical methods you use for Indian soils?

Please have a look at the website of AgroCares (www.agrocares.com). they have developped what they call Lab-in-a-Box using MIR and XRF. Using this procedure a lot of analytes can be retrieved from soil samples in total content. Also the elements you are requesting.
One can follow the ISRIC's lab manual for soil chemical analysis. Also many standard books are there, including of Jackson.

1. Take 5 ml of soil extract of saturation into a porcelain dish or a conical flask and add 20 ml of distilled water to this solution.
2. Add 1 ml of Ammonium chloride – Ammonium hydroxide buffer solution and 3-4 drops of Eriochrome BlackT indicator to the above solution.
3. Titrate with 0.01 N EDTA solution using 10 mL micro burette.
4. The color changes from wine red to blue or green.
5. To tinge of wine-red colour should remain at the endpoint.
Na+
1. Take 5 or 10 ml of saturation extract into a 100 ml or 50 ml volumetric flask and make up the volume with distilled water.
2. Calibrate the flame photometer with a standard solution of 50 ppm Na concentration.
3. Insert the flame photometer tube into the diluted saturation extract and find the Na concentration on the flame photometer.
4. If flame photometer does not give reading then we have to go for further dilutions with distilled water.
