I am trying to study the extent of compliance of Saudi Banks with the AAOIFI Shariah standards. I need some suggestions on the correct methodology to conduct this research. The main objective of the research is to study the shariah compliance procedure in Saudi banks and then to check to what extent the banks comply with AAOIFI Shariah standards.
Any suggestion at this conceptual stage will help in improving the quality of the research. Similar study was found for Bahrain banks but I want to just be sure about the survey instrument to be used.

Perhaps you should consider investigating the factors hindering saudis' bank from complying to AAOIFI, this financial informations can be extracted from the banks' annual reports, the most common methods is panel data analysis using eviews, stata and others.
