However, cost minimisation usually follows when:
Device is simple, made in large quantities, materials are readily available and cheap, there is high demand and lots of users, device is easy to install, device works reliably for a long time.
You surely have all these in India!

Solar PV technology change the economy of developing countries. In India, still most of the population is living in low standard rural and remote areas which is far from the national grid. The only way to change this community is by a stand alone system base energy generation like solar PV.
As literatures suggest, when the system is designed for enormous load, the cost of generation increases (also supported by economics theory in mass production). Simply the formula for cost of energy is COST OF THE SYSTEM (annual)/ LOAD SERVED ($/kwh) and therefore as supply more load, you are decreasing the generation cost. Besides, if the resource (irradiation) is good and the installed materials are cheaper will further decrease the COE by decreasing the numerator in the equation mentioned above.
