The common forces that prevent particles to contact walls are Magnus and lift forces. Magnus force acts like a cushion preventing particles touching the wall and it is a lateral lift force which is a result of particles rotation in fluid. The other type of lateral lift force is called Saffman lift force, which originates from shear flow around particles and is different from aerodynamic lift force.
