well, I have been in 2 universities teaching geology, and I was commissioner of environment in Petra Authority in Jordan, to be honest, numbers of females coming to this job and study is increasing in Jordan, and they welcome such work in the field, any way, it depends on the country, on the salaries of this field of jobs, on the schools weather they study geology or not,
Thank you for your response Mohammad Al Farajat. In South Africa we have had an improvement in participation of female geologists, better than in the past. The challenge is that very few want to do field work. Many go into the softer parts of earth science. Field geology is still dominated my male geologists.
