How can one know that the state of a compound?

During virtual screening, how do know that the compound exists in which form i.e. solid liquid or vapor forms?

If you know the compound identity, melting points and boilings points at ambient pressure is first step in such a determination. If not, consider hydrogen bonding, molecular formula for mass determination, if a salt or non-salt form, one can opine is gas, liquid or solid.
