Try to vary meshing density. Try to dense mesh only in critical areas whilst in other make it rough.

I had this kind of problems with 32 byte windows system, have you tried 64 byte system.

My Windows is 64 byte.

Some starting versions of softwares, these situations can happen.

I think, if you can update your workbench version to 17.2, the problem can be solve. You can find your ANSYS customer portal.

try to reduce dense mesh

I am facing the error in Ansoft Maxwell: " Adaptive passp, process 3dnms: Insufficient memory". Please any one can answer this. Is it related to same as shared by Masood???

Do you think running other programs on the same computer while the simulation is in effect would cause this? Or does ANSYS pre-allocate RAM to its operations?

I am using the same problem "[error] The solver engine has run out of memory" in ANSYS Q3D

Dr. Marcin A. Królikowski has recommended the best solution; "Try to vary meshing density. Try to dense mesh only in critical areas whilst in other make it rough."

The starting mesh should be coarse enough so that your computer can solve the model. Then, find the critical areas such as stress concentration region at the tip of a crack. You should concentrate the mesh refining on these critical areas.

But I know that you can set your computer such a way that Ansys has a preference for using RAM. Then other programs will be stopped before Ansys when the RAM is going to be full.

Increase memory of PC or decrease mesh size, as your elements ger smaller consequently dimension of matrix get large so take a much memory
