The problem in hand refers to the coupled seakeeping-sloshing problem of LNG ships in irregular seas. At first, CFD methods and computer codes are NOT effective in studying irregular seas responses due to the random nature of the excitation. There are well established other methods suitable to study these phenomena, first in the frequency domain and then by use of spectral techniques to predict statistical values of responses in random/irregular seas. Also, the transfer from frequency to time domain simulation is readily possible by the impulse response function technique.
