technical coagulation-flocculation increases the concentration of sulfates and lowers the pH, the ion exange increases the Na+ concentration that is attached with the chloride ion. Ther are any other methods to remove salinity taste in drinking water?
Reverse Osmosis for higher concentrations of NaCl, but you can use Nanofiltration that will reduce a smaller percentage of NaCl from water that is lower TDS (EC)
As I know, some electrochemical methods can be used to treat this kind of water..

Lime softening is a type of water treatment used for water softening which uses the addition of calcium hydroxide to remove temporary hardness (calcium and magnesium ions linked to bicarbonate) by precipitation. It does not remove sulfate.

If the concentration is high then use RO, if low then use (electrodeionization) EDI or ion exchange (IX).

I am thinking about RO systems for removing anions like as chloride and sulfate from drinking water but it has some problem like as yield and capability to reduce dispose. you know the best RO systems that knows in the industries has 75% ability to separation dissolve solids from water or waste water sources and you should know about waste water or drainage from RO instrumentation and how to dispose or recover it.

Reverse Osmosis can remove 90 - 95% of the chlorides because of its salt rejection capabilities. Electrodialysis and distillation are two more processes that can be used to reduce the chloride content of water.
