I am working on the prey availability and dietary preference of woodland migrants. I have prey available arthropod data and the dietary arthropod data.
Does anybody have any idea or reference (literature) about how to quantify and test for preference of individual bird species on certain arthropod taxa? I want to see if a bird species showed any preference/avoidance on certain arthropod group.

As you have availability data, I think you should consider the method of Neu et al 1974: A Technique for Analysis of Utilization-Availability Data. It is old but still relevant. See attached.
