I have two crystal structure of metal complexes one is cis and other is trans. Cis isomer is predominantly formed in room temperature over trans isomer. But when i reflux cis isomer in ethanol its almost fully converted to trans form which is monitored by TLC.Both cis and trans isomers show same uv and nmr spectra as they are different due to position of chlorine atoms. Therefore how can i prove the cis to trans transition by experiment?
