Depending on the properties of polymer you are using, the initiator and cross-linker. You need to find out what characteristics does your polymer hydrogel possess, is it hydrophilic or hydrophobic in nature? what method of polymerization you are using? what type of cross-linker you are using? any agent like surfactant, tinting agent etc. So I suggest you explicate your question by providing some information on your formulation will certainly aid you in having a good advice.

Thanks for your reply; actually I am planning to prepare natural polymeric hydrogels via free radical polymerization. So, I need some characteristics like transparent, flexibility, tough, actuation capacity.

I am trying to both combination (hydrophilic and hydrophobic) of hydrogels.
