Using water as my vehicle, In what ml of water do I constitute 80g of a crude plant extract? I'm working on the Antiulcerogenic effects of the plant on rats. Thank you.
A stock solution of each plant extracts can be prepared by dissolving 100 mg of extract with one ml of their respective solvents; sterile distilled water and 99.9% dimethyl sulfoxide. Ten, 30 μl, 50 μl of a final concentration of 100 mg/ml have then used to impregnate in sterilized 6 mm blank discs http://studentsrepo.um.edu.my/3487/7/7_Chapter_2.pdf
i prepared 100 mg/ml of stock solution using 99.9% DMSO. When, I found 99.9% DMSO killed the test bacteria in the broth macrodilution, I diluted the 99.9% DMSO to 2%, and found safe for the growth of bacteria. Would any one tell me how to calculate the concentration of the plant extract when I start with the stock solution and diluted at 2% concentration of DMSO?
