I have two sulfonated polymers A and B.
A has the IEC 1.5meq/g
B has the IEC 1.4meq/g
I have added 1g of A and B (10mg, 20mg ......) which means amont of A is kept constant.
what will be the resultant IEC? will it be more than A or Less than A?

theoretically, the overall IEC should be: IEC a* its portion+IEC b*its portion
but in practice and due to exchange or hydrogen bonding or acidic strength the value deviates. all you have to do is to titrate the mixture against a standardized alkali.
