In our lab, we have a vertical light source. For PEC water splitting, light should fall directly on the working electrode. So generally horizontal light source is used and the electrode is kept vertical. However, in this case, keeping the working electrode vertical is out of question as the light will not fall on it at all.
I would like to know that how can I place the working electrode so that it can be illuminated by the light on top.

You can use a sheet of your electrode so that the light beam will fall directly on your working electrode. As shown here e.g. Energy Environ. Sci., 2011,4, 2909-2914.
or using a horizontal cell and the working electrode embedded in it facing the light sources. If modification is difficult, so i support the suggestion by prof.Geletii
You could use the polarisation cell for Disks or Flat Specimens produced by the amel electrochemistry (see link down to the model 597/MB). In this cell the working electrode can be placed on the bottom facing the vertical light source. Maybe a lens will need to collimate the vertical light beam at the right distance.

Alternatively. in some cases, depending on the material used, you can bend the connecting wire or the electrode so that its surface becomes horizontal...
