I have two raster one is elevation class map from DEM reclassification and another is snow cover fraction map. I need to calculate elevation class wise Snow cover fraction(%). I do not want to convert the input raster format to vector format because in the later stage I need the output file in raster format.
Which software are you using?
In ArcGIS for this purpose you may use zonal statistics: the elevation zones define your zone raster, the snow raster your values. You will end up in a table sowing the snow "statistics" like sum, average, max, min...
Thank you so much @Richard I have cropped all the data with same polygon and it has same pixel size already (previously re-sampled). I am using python although I am new in image processing in python. Dietrich Schroeder thank you so much I have tried in ArcGIS and got the table for one sample raster. However I have snow fraction values from 0-100 and then I have assigned values previously cloud as 201 and water as 205. In result I get max 205 which is not snow. How can I exclude those values when to compute zonal statistics???

I have tried with from rasterstats import zonal_stats but it needs to have one file in vector format however I have two raster data.
You have to set the pixel values which you want o ignore like cloud and water in the statistics to NoData-values. In the zonal statistics tool you have the option to ignore NoData values
