Currently, I'm working on my Masters thesis, for which I am planning to analyze the ecosystem services for a large geographical area. For several reasons, Sentinel-2 data appears to be the best method for doing this. Although I can open this data in SNAP just fine, I'm unable to figure out how I can convert this data into something that can be read by ERDAS Imagine.
Could anyone perhaps give me some directions for doing this? Thanks in advance.

I think it depends on your data format. Did you get the Data from Sentinels Scientific Data Hub? Because there are the different granules in some subfolder (see: https://sentinel.esa.int/web/sentinel/user-guides/sentinel-2-msi/data-formats). Alternatively I recommend the Amazon Webservice for Sentinel-2. There you can download smaller tiles in .jp2 format, which can simply be opened in ArcGIS/QGIS and probably ERDAS etc..

By downloading through the Amazon Webservice I was able to export and open the files in ERDAS.

once you got your Sentinel 2 zip file you can use the IMPACT toolbox JRC is developing. It might be useful from Landsat and Sentinel2 preprocessing, classification, segmentation and visual interpretation.

Did you open the *.xml file of the downloaded Sentinel-2 scene in SNAP? Could you export the Sentinel-2 image from SNAP as GeoTIFF via file -> export -> GeoTiff ?
If this does not work, maybe an alternative way would be to use QGIS and the Semi -automatic classification plugin to search and download the desired scene. With your Scihub user credentials you could use SLCP to download and preprocess the Sentinel-2 images and QGIS allows you to export the preprocessed images in the .img format, which is the native file format of Erdas Imagine.

I opened the image of sentinel 2 in snap and i did atmospherical correction with sen2cor. How can i save the files, so that to open that in nevi 5.3?
Interestingly, they say if you're using ArcGIS version 10.3.1 you have to download and update some patches but that did not work for me. I tried to create composite bands using regular procedures but failed. I later learned that I could use the same regular procedures and that the error resulted because I changed the directory where to save the new file - all I needed to do is leave the default folder for saving the new composite imagery and then export it to where I wanted to save it..
You can save the image in geotiff format as it can be read in ERDAS also.
I have a similar awkward situation. I have downloaded the EW GRD in TIFF format from Copernicus as the complete zipped file. When I try to open this TIFF file, Imagine does not recognize it as "TIFF". ArcGIS opens it easily so as ENVI and SNAP. Do I need to resaved it as GeoTIFF in SNAP?
Okay, may be today's my lucky day 😃.
It turned out, in my case, to be due to an "exceptionally" long string of file location. I copy-pasted the TIFF file inside the "Measurement" folder of the original Sentinel file from Copernicus, into the parent drive (e.g., C:\) and "imported" in Imagine as GeoTIFF. Voila! It got opened easily.
