In matlab, for ncfiles use ncdisp  and ncread commands.

Dear Warren;

you could easily use Matlab to read and edit your NetCDF files.

There is Three command which could help you in Matlab, 1. ncinfo; which shows the information of file, 2. ncdisp; which show you the variable that are in your NetCDF file, and 3. ncread; which read the variable that you want.

I read and example and send you the results.

Note: Be care that you should be in the directory in which you NetCDF file is there, or you can enter its path.

I have tried it sir and i can open it now in Matlab. (I quit using R)

I'm studying the paper "Decreasing Intensity of Monsoon Low-Frequency Intraseasonal Variability Over India" by Nirupam Karmakar.

I've contacted him and gave me this website  (link attached) and these 2 papers (files attached).

I have downloaded TRMM data along the region of Philippines from this website (attached) ...(13° 00 N and 122° 00 E ).

I have attached also two NCDF files corresponding to March  3 and 4, 2000 data

.My question is how to integrate the TRMM ncdf files to the matlab tutorial given by Karmakar.

I'm so sorry for my late reply.

I don't know what did you do in these months, but as an answer to your last questions, I should say, it's so easy to superimpose Philippines map, if only you have the shape file of there, so easily you could add the map, or in another way you could add your map to your projections using ArcGIS.

To your second question, I should say, yeah, it's possible and I assure you that this is a very simple task. so I suggest you try "implay" function in matlab.

Sir, I have daily data of SMAP satellite in Netcdf format. I want to plot data for single month and yearly average for three years. The parameters are Sea Surface Salinity (SSS) and Sea Surface Temperature (SST). I am new to MATLAB and have no idea about reading and plotting in MATLAB. I need codes to read single file and for iteration of multiple files in MATLAB. Urgent help is needed please.
