How can I model a system in Matlab consisting of Solar PV, Several Batteries from Electrical vehicles, and a grid altogether so that the load demand is fulfilled in such a way that the cost of energy is minimum? I want to model a controller that generates different switching signals which indicates what sources to use to serve the load according to the availability of the sources and load demand? I want to minimize the total energy cost.

your supposed research work is very effective, as you asked to design the solar PV then I will recommend you to go through the PSCAD software, not MATLAB. Because PSCAD software is very significant for this type of simulation, here you can easily compare the traditional method to reduce the cost analysis as like as you may reduce the frequency fluctuation, which is a very cost-effective analysis for a power plant or grid system. But if you want to simulate this prototype by only using the MATLAB then you should go for the Simulink as Dr-Badar Islam told you in the previous answer, here at first you need to focus on the fact that what was the effect due to the fluctuation or variation of solar irradiance in PV power output, Because due to the fluctuation of solar irradiance there are several impacts on PV power output, here in MATLAB you can generate the approximate irradiance fluctuation by using the randi(0,0,0) function then you may proceed for the next step, otherwise, you can also use the "Retscreen" Sowftare also to achieve the solar irradiance for a specific location.
