Hello, I have been looking for an answer for a while decided to ask here. For an assignment, I have to import data collected on a monthly basis and turn it into time-series data for a year. I am analyzing price indexes for farmers' market data. Data is uploaded monthly so for every month there is an excel sheet filled with min. max. average. and names of the products that are available on the market for let's say March. I wanted to merge Tomato prices throughout the whole year. How should I do it?
I can use Minitab, R and SPSS.
If you are dealing with "tomato" prices, you should not anticipate to achieve reliable time-series data. Unlike rice, wheat, tomatoes do fluctuate vigorously in prices even within the same year. Some decades ago, National Nutrition Surveys, big-size 24 hour-recall surveys, took place in in May in some years, as I recall, you should be ok to create annually dependable time-series data for rice, milk, for example, but never with tomatoes, lettuce. Do not try what it is beyond your normal reasoning.

PS: annually time-series data should survive with a few months NA.

Create a new file with a field called month and copy-paste your month wise data next to it so that you can have a combined file for all the months.
