I am constructing the Thermal evaporation system. I want to know the melting point and evaporation temperature of tungsten boat during the deposition. How can i do?
There are few ways:
1. Theoretical estimation from the current and the properties of the boat. Obviously, the precision is too low.
2. Use a high temperature thermocouple.
3. Use a pyrometer.
4. Calibrate the system with some pure compounds with well-known melting temperature and extrapolate the points.

If your system is equipped by the view port that directed on the boat you can use a pyrometer for the temperature measurements. Other approach is to attach a small (lightweight) therrmocouple directły to the boat. In practice the knowledge about the boat temperature is not so important if the evaporation system contain the thin film deposition controller that adjust current via the board automatically to obtain steady speed of deposition.
