Thank you for your answer. Yes , thats the best option , I believe with the help of Young's equation, we can find out surface energy from the values of surface tension.
I have solved similar problem recently - see my article Fracture energy of selected brittle silicates (in my researchgate profile or in the supplement of this message). It depends on the purpose what you mean. If the application is for mechanical fragmentation, you need to know fracture energy of powder granules, not surface energy of them.
