There are good measurement scales for political interest, internal political efficacy, and political participation, developed and tested in the leading democratic countries especially the USA and Europe. But i am wondering will these scales be valid for a different political system.. non-consolidated democracy?

Using scales that are used in other contexts has the advantage of facilitating the comparison with other cases. If you use, for instance, the same measures for political participation and find, say, that it owes to different factors in established and non-consolidated democracies, then you open up the possibility to explain what are the reasons for those differences. But if you use different measures, that is no longer possible. So in general I would try to use the same measures, except that you have very strong reasons against it.
I agree with what Andrés has written, but I would add that it's always difficult to accurately measure political interests, political participation, especially if you try to assess informal approaches in different socio-political contexts. And it seems quite common that intended behaviour is being equalled with actual behaviour (at least this happens in the European context). Thus, it's crucial that you frame the form(s), degree(s) and spheres of democracy that you intend to look at.as exactly as possible Hope this helps, in case you feel like discussing this further, you can reach me via email. I thank you Dr Andrés Santana and Prof Carolin Schroeder for giving valuable inputs. I think i should measure these concepts with the established scales and should analyze the findings in the light of the specific socio-political situation of the country where i am conducting this study.
