Many times boiler water becomes contaminated with chloride ions due to condenser tube leakage. Can it be measured with a nephelometer or turbidity meter by precipitating the chloride as silver chloride?
Sir, your is correct but my question is that how to measure it by turbiditimetry using
silver nitrate as the reagent Generally we estimate chloride ion upto ppb. level as follows: acidify 50 ml. of test sample with 0.5 ml.1(N) nitric acid, and then adding
0.5 ml. 5% silver nitrate , and measure the reading in phto electric colorimeter using blue filter ,and we get a straight line when plotted con of soln. vs. colorimeter reading. but
we still have not get the books or publication of this method.
