I want to calibrate a GC with a mixture of C1-C3, n-C4, i-C4 and n-C5. the problem is that n-C5 is liquid at room temperature so how can i make a standard mix?
If you are able tomake a gas mixture C1-C5 in a gas tight bag simply add the nC5 by a syringe. Measure the weight of the standard in the syringe on the scale.
A mixture of liquid and gas standards is always going to be a challenge but one possibility would be to do a head space analysis by solid phase microextraction (SPME) onto an appropriate SPME fibre.
