Dear Lamis,

In the first link, installing NS2 from source file on Ubuntu 14.04 is provided.There are no significant differences between 14.04 and 16.04 for this installation:

or you can install it from repositories:

Well, I have written the steps for installing NS-2.35 in Ubuntu 16.04, I believe these steps will work for NS-2.29 also.
