topology optimization, 99line code, photonic crystal.
how can I handle 99 line code in topology optimization for a photonic crystal? I need a hint on how I should start and which line exactly I need to change? Is it possible to connect my own code for photonic crystal to 99 line code for optimization? I read a lot of papers but I don't have any clue how to do it yet?

I see that this question has been here for a while so I will offer whatever I can. I did a quick search to see what the 99 line code thing was about. It looks like it is a generic topology optimization and it is based on the finite-element technique. First, you will need to modify the part of the code that runs the simulation. That is a longer story and will require more modification to the code than a line or two. I recommend using the plane wave expansion technique instead of the finite element method, especially if your photonic crystal is all dielectric. Once you have a basic simulation working, I think it will be more clear to you how to incorporate it into the topology optimization. Thanks for your replay. I run FDTD to simulate my problem and it is working. My issue is how to handle 99 line code to fdtd. I think it is not the same as Genetic algorithem which I was working before I guess I need to change the simulation program according to topology optimization.
