I am doing phylogeny for freshly isolated group of fungi and I am gonna deposit their sequences in NCBI. So, I would like to know how to set a name/isolate identifier for each of those isolates in the title section.
Ncbi has guidelines that you need to follow to solve this kind of problems.
Hi Osama. Did you already finished the identification? Do you know what species they are or are they new species? If they are a new group and you haven't decide the name, you can just use the family, order, or class name with your own isolate number, depending on how much information you have. The sequence won't be released in NCBI at first. But after your publication is accepted and you have the proper name for them, you shall contact NCBI to modify their name. Then those sequence can be released and the others can access the sequences.
That's how it's usually done a few years ago, You may also contact NCBI to make sure.
