I need sodium nano-powder, most preferably around 80-120 nm sized grain. As sodium is ductile, I can't go for ball-milling. So, are there any chemical processes or, any other process to get sodium nano-sized powder?
Is it possible to buy sodium nano-sized powder directly?

Electric explosion of wires in an inert gas may be useful. But one has to draw/extrude soduim 0.3 mm dia. wires before.

Yes, I know about Pulsed Wire Evaporation. But I failed to get any sodium wire with 0.3 mm dia. Can you tell me about any place where I can buy Sodium wire of that size?
Unfortunately I got no idea where you can buy it. It may be better if you make it by extruding the metal through a die. This approach was once good for indium.
Dr. Sergei, yes, actually I am also thinking like that but what I am worried about, if I pass liquid sodium through the extrusion machine, will the collision between the extrusion machine and the sodium result in a explosion. How do you think regarding this?
I don't believe any explosion is possible unless there is moisture or acid. I know that sodium is stored under kerosene so why not using this fluid for extrusion?
However, I 'm not a chemist so you'd better ask someone who is.
Wish you luck with it. However, I meant cold extrusion when suggested kerosene as a protection medium. If you're going to proceed with the melted metal kerosene may be too combustible.
You might simply try decane bp about 175 C should work for your melted sodium at about 100 C.
