I am making a CS-PEG (1:1) in 1 % AA solution using glutaraldehyde as crosslinker. However, the drying of gel is causing problem. According to the protocol, it should dry overnight at 37° C in a drying oven. On the contrary, the gel collapses due to over drying.

In my opinion，if you keep it at 37 ℃ just for reaction and hope the gel isn't dried，you might pour the precursor solution into an enclosed mold for reaction.
If you need a dried sample without collapse，freeze drying may be a good choice.
