Hello. I have a complete model of a pedestrian bridge on Ansys. It has 2 double T beams, and I modelled it as SECTYPE BEAM, inserting all their geometric properties. I would like to extract from Ansys only the mass moment of inertia of the 2 double T beams, and not of the entire bridge, because I need to compute them with the theoretical ones. Thanks a lot !
you need to select that particular element and extract a scalar parameter (inertia) from the model (I guess it is the GET command).
Thanks a lot for answering Denis Benasciutti ! And how can I,on the other side, assign the mass moment of inertia to the beams defined as BEAM188? During a Dynamic analysis only the deck of my bridge has flexural or torsional deformation, not the lateral beams. So I would like to add a mass moment of inertia to it, calculated by hands, but I don't know how to do it...
Denis Benasciutti ok thank you, this could be the solution! But should I sobstitute completly my elements from BEAM188 to MASS21 or is an information that I can "add" to the model?
