I am trying to find the density of a solution consisting of 8% PMMA and 92% 1,3 dioxolane. Is there any formula to find out the effective density of the solution.

1. Measure the mass of an empty small glass bottle (mb).
2. Transfer exact volume (Vs) of the solution to the empty small glass bottle.
3. Measure the mass of bottle contained solution (mbs),
4.The mass of solution (ms) would be: ms=mbs-mb
5. Density of solution =ms/Vs
If you have a pycnometer you can use it to have exact volume instead of using a glass bottle.

To determine the solution's density, weigh a precisely measured volume of your solution, and divide the mass of solution by the volume of solution. You must measure the volume of solution to obtain the density.
Approximate prediction of the solution density can be based on mixture rules that relate slurry density with concentration, as long as volume additivity can be accepted; cf.:

In determining the density of amy solution, weigh an exact measured volume of your solution, and divide its mass by the volume of solution. The answer gotten is the density of your solution.
