Hello,

I plan to measure the green density of some porous polymeric samples (polyethylene) using the ‘Standard Test Methods for Density of Compacted or Sintered Powder Metallurgy (PM) Products Using Archimedes’ Principle (ASTM B962-17)’. According to this standard, in the case of samples containing open pores I need to impregnate the samples using some sort of oil with a viscosity of 20 to 65 cSt (38 c). Since my samples has a lower density than water, I‘m planning to use ethanol instead of water for density measurements according to Archimedes’ law. So to sum it up, I‘m looking for some sort of oil with a viscosity of 29 to 65 cSt, which is insoluble in ethanol and doesn’t react with polyethylene.

Thanks
