how can i evaluate the actual yield stress for reinforcement steel from the output of 3 point bending test

As composites exhibit progressive flexural failure behavior, it is hard to detect the exact point of failure. In order to solve his problem, Dianyun Zhang et al. considered the point where 20% reduction in load takes place as the point of failure. The flexural yield stress, σfY, was selected as the stress obtained where the linearity of load-displacement curve is lost; whereas the maximum flexural stress, σfM, as the maximum stress observed during flexural testing, and the failure strain, εfM, the strain obtained where the 20% load drop occurs.
