Standing is more correct, probably. All this substances above 350C in neat (liquid) condition or in solvent ( toluene, for instance) are suitable for 3A molecular sieves drying. Azeotropic distillation with toluene is relative simple and cheap method of drying; molecular sieves are more effective dessicant.
You can dry p-cresol by adding P2O5 as desiccant; preferably under vacuum. Either diphenyl ether (or diphenyl oxide) and diphenylmethane can be dried by adding CaCl2 as desiccant; also preferably under vacuum.
